The Sad Tragedy Behind Lyn May’s Face

Lyn May, born Lilia Guadalupe Mendiola Mayares in 1952, is a well-known figure in Mexico, especially in the world of film and dance. Her life is a mix of fame, love, and tragedy. She was born in Acapulco, Mexico, and has Chinese heritage. Growing up in a poor family, Lyn had to work from a young age to help make ends meet. She started by selling souvenirs to tourists and later worked as a waitress. This job led her to meet an American sailor who was 30 years older than her. They fell in love, moved to Mexico City, and had two daughters together. However, after five years, Lyn left her husband, accusing him of abusing and exploiting their children.

After her divorce, Lyn returned to Acapulco and began working as a dancer, despite having little formal training. Her unique style and charm quickly caught the attention of many, leading her to appear on one of the most popular TV shows in Latin America, “Siempre en Domingo.” This exposure brought her fame, and soon she was invited to perform in burlesque shows by businessman Enrique Lombardini. Although Lyn was initially uncomfortable with the idea of fully undressing on stage, she eventually embraced it, causing a sensation among audiences. This marked the beginning of her rise as a star in the Ficheras films of the 1970s and 1980s, a genre known for its humorous and provocative tales.

Despite her early success, Lyn’s career faded as the popularity of Ficheras films declined. However, she made a comeback in the late 1990s, appearing in music videos, TV shows, and documentaries. Her bold personality and unique charisma kept her in the public eye.

Lyn’s personal life was also filled with ups and downs. After her first marriage ended, she found love again with a businessman named Antonio Chi Su. They married in 1989 and opened a Chinese restaurant together in Mexico City. Unfortunately, tragedy struck in 2004 when Chi Su was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Lyn stood by him throughout his illness, but he passed away in 2008. Grief-stricken, Lyn resorted to an extreme act—she exhumed her husband’s body and kept it at home, even sleeping beside it. Eventually, her mother convinced her to let go and bury him again.

Lyn’s life took another surprising turn in 2021 when she announced that she was pregnant at the age of 68 with her 29-year-old fiancé, Markos D1. The news shocked many, but it was later revealed that Lyn had fabricated the pregnancy as a publicity stunt for her upcoming farewell tour.

One of the most tragic aspects of Lyn’s story is the cosmetic procedure that went horribly wrong. In the early 1990s, she sought to enhance her facial features with collagen injections but was instead injected with cooking oil, baby oil, or water by a scam artist. This left her face with unsightly lumps that she has carried ever since. Despite undergoing surgery to remove some of the oil, the damage was done, leaving a lasting impact on her appearance.
